BACKGROUND

PT Ardendi Jaya Sentosa is the leading and largest subsidiary of PT Astra Otoparts (AOP) engaged in the manufacture and distribution of Cars and Motorcycle vehicle parts in Indonesia for the automotive manufacturer market (OEM/Original Equipment for Manufacturer) and spare parts market and replacement parts (REM/Replacement Market).

BRIEF

AOP initially engaged a vendor to build their Adobe Commerce platform, but later approached Kemana to take over the project. As part of this handover, KEMANA conducted a comprehensive code audit and site optimization process, with the aim of stabilizing the Ecommerce system and ensuring it met AOP’s requirements.

GOALS

The primary objective of the project was twofold: to stabilize the Ecommerce platform in response to performance issues and errors that were impacting its functionality, and to implement new Ecommerce features aimed at boosting online conversion rates, increasing sales, and driving site traffic.

CHALLENGE

Upon receiving the site handover, we discovered that there was a notable lack of documentation provided to us regarding its development and maintenance.

SOLUTIONS

Kemana conducted a thorough analysis of the site’s features and collaborated closely with AOP to clarify business and system requirements, with the goal of ensuring that no functionality was compromised during the platform’s upgrade to the latest version. This involved meticulous planning and testing at each stage of the process, as well as ongoing communication and coordination between all parties involved to ensure a smooth and successful upgrade.

CREATING THE EXPERIENCE

Kemana undertook several key initiatives to enhance the functionality of the Adobe Commerce platform, including optimization and fine-tuning of its performance, upgrading to the latest available version, and implementing headless technology. Additionally, the team placed a strong emphasis on optimizing the platform for mobile and tablet devices, specifically targeting low to medium type smartphones to ensure a seamless user experience across all devices.

THE RESULTS

The successful completion of the project yielded several significant benefits for AOP, including increased traffic, higher conversion rates, improved customer retention, a lighter front-end display, support for multiple payment channels and 3PL options, the addition of Flash sale features, and seamless integration with SAP and Shop&Drive. These enhancements contributed to the overall success of the platform, with AOP now well-positioned to achieve its goals and drive growth for its online business.
